Insurance Defense Attorney
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in insurance defense litigation and a strong understanding of various areas including personal injury, construction, and commercial trucking. This role involves representing clients in a variety of legal matters and providing expert legal advice while managing cases from inception to trial.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in insurance defense litigation cases
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Prepare for and conduct depositions and court appearances
- Manage case files and documentation in a paperless environment
- Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants as needed
- Perform site inspections and assess cases for trial preparation
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff
- Keep abreast of industry trends and changes in law relevant to insurance defense
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active Florida Bar License
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
- Strong knowledge of personal injury, construction, and commercial trucking law
- Excellent analytical abilities and legal research skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Experience with legal technology and cloud-based document management
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to learn quickly
